After such a difficult time dealing with recent copyright infringement issues, making heart-shaped ornaments ahead of this year's Christmas season has been an enjoyable and uplifting task. This year I'm applying a thick, glossy coat of resin to each one to add extra shine and protection when hung on display. The downside is that it takes at least 24 hours to dry, so it's time-consuming but absolutely worth it. Gold leaf and glitter makes for an especially striking effect under resin! I've been experimenting with new techniques recently, including applying resin (a two-part epoxy resin system from Pebeo), gold leaf and enamel-effect paint to my artwork.
